Job Description

• Structured Cabling System standards and Industry standards to ensure project deployment quality are delivered with standard compliance.
• Review infrastructure design, specification & implementation plans. (TIZ/EIA, ISO/IEC 11801 & 18010 standards for commercial and residential SCS design)
• Review and approve all system testing procedures and test results.
• Lead, manage and conduct acceptance tests.
• Follow up with Manager on performance & progress of implementation works related to structure cabling systems.
• Interact internally with other departments/engineers to ensure proper implementation of project is maintained.
• Reviews on all Infrastructures related issues and site snags.
• Supervise and assure that the design has been precisely carried out at site during project execution.
• Reviews summary sheet for FTTH ISP/OSP cabling requirements ensuring FTTH ISP and OSP capacities are figured adequately and accurately for the assigned project.
• Preparing request for quotation and do tendering for the assigned projects.
• Arrange with the Procurement manager to create Purchase Requisition for the cabling materials.
• Carry out site inspection in coordination with System Integrators, contractors and consultants to ensure projects design and with agreed level of quality.
• Manage the Handover of FTTH ISP/OSP systems from LSPs (Local Service Partner) and assuring design has been fulfilled and quality required has been achieved.
• Prepare necessary daily technical reports that related project progress, update and related issues to CIO (Chief Information Officer) and PM (Planning Manager).
• Planning and Implementation of OSP projects. OSP jobs include fiber (FTTH) connectivity and installation of ODN (Optical Distribution Network) systems, DWDM systems, ring network topology
• Providing Technical support and manage to vendors for planning of fiber allocation, duct design (PVC) and route design.
• Coordination with all the agencies for lassoing as well as site supervisors for timely and efficiently execution of work so as to meet deadlines.
• Overhaul and all technical jobs like Fiber Blowing, Splicing, OFC testing (OTDR) and Link Testing with Laser Source-Power Meter. Preparing budgets and bids for tenders of Clients. Negotiating with clients for technical as well as financial clearance.

Job Requirements

• 3-5 years of fiber splicing and testing
• Must have the qualities of a good leader
• Working knowledge of the proper use and maintenance of fusion machines, OTDRs, power meters and tools of the trade
• Organized, with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment & communicate professionally with co-workers and customers
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Requires a mixture of day and night work.
• Be available for 7 day / 24-hour stand by on-call rotation as needed
• Ability and willingness to work long and unpredictable hours if required, including work after normal business hours in the event physical restoration of fiber plant is needed
• Ability to climb up and down ladders
• Willingness to operate within a schedule that is subject to inclement weather conditions
